Quito – Pasochoa Quito aclimatization Pasochoa (4199m/13,773ft)
We depart at 8.30 a.m. heading 30 km south of Quito where Cerro Pasochoa is located at 4199m.(13773ft) It is an ancient and very eroded volcano which has been inactive since the last ice age.

We drive to the car park, from here we will follow the track as it contours the eastside of the mountain heading towards the rocky peak. This easy ascent will take us 3-4 hours to reach the summit. Here we rest for one hour (weather pending) and will have lunch before hiking 2 hours back to the car to return to Quito Hotel Sierra Madre. (B/BL)

Quito – Drive to FuyaFuya and Climbing at 4200 – Otavalo City. We can leave around 8am. From Quito hotel and arrive at Mojanda lake around 11am. Today we can take a first acclimatization on this nice small peak, good introducing for a mountaineering life over the Andes.

The nature her is so nice with lakes over 4100m form where we can hike up for 3-4h to reach the summit, before on our climbing up we can manage with rope and harness to safe and pass same racks, same we can make to going down. Nice view if the weather is clear to enjoining. Afternoon we can back and overnight at Hostería Chorlaví – (B/BL)

Hacienda Chorlavi – Climinbg Mt Imbabura – Otavalo hotel.
Climbing Imbabura (4620m). The land around Imbabura is extensively farmed with maize, sugarcane, beans, potatoes, peas, barley, onions and much more .. being the staple crops of the region.

Cattle also graze on the high-altitude meadows above the tree line. In the afternoon, we will return to Otavalo in order to the itinerary. This climbing day begins at 3,300m. Form here the climber hike up for 5-6 hour up to reach the summit on the way up we have and spectacular views from Ibarra City and the lagoon Yaguarcocha, after 3 hours hike we will be reached a saddle at 42oom, from here begins the real climbing along the ridge until we reach the rack climbing were is not hard climbing, but really interesting, this pass is for 10minuts after we take the ridge again were that leads to reach the summit. Rest on the top for a wild, eat, picture. then begins to decent for the same way down to the car park, it takes 3-4 hours until the parking lot. (B/BL).

Hacienda Chorlavi climbing mt. Cotacachi. It is located in the western ranges in the Imbabura Province; the height is 4,939m above sea level. We depart from the hotel along the route that leads to the lagoon CuyCocha, we entered the Cotacachi Cayapas, we take the path of third order, continue uphill until we reach the antennas.

From where we started walking along a path in the weeds and edge that leads to the base of the mountain at 4,400 m from this point becomes only rock climbing steeply. And near the top you have to put a fixed rope that the consistency of the rock that is not good, because this section is covered with rock slabs that make it difficult to progress without security, and if there is snow becomes almost impossible to reach the summit. If all goes well and with luck we reached the summit, rest, pictures and descend by the same route, with few rappels get to the base and then to the car to return to the hotel to take our alleges to drive to Papallacta. Arrive in Papallacato around 6-7pm.

Hostal Acoma drive up to Cayambe Refuge. Depart from Otavalo around 11:00 A.M., and arrive at the Cayambe volcano refuge by 1-2 pm.(4700m / 15,416ft). Lunch included. Located northeast of Quito on the eastern ridge of the Andes, Cayambe is Ecuador’s third highest peak and stands at 5790m (18,991ft.)

The glacier of this mountain is large and among the most active of all equatorial ice flows, and its varied glacial terrain here provides an excellent training ground and a rewarding summit climb. Overnight at hut. Early dinner and early to bed. Hut (B/BL/D)

Day for training skills on the Cayambe Glacier at 5000m. this give you more acclimatization to safe the summit attempt at Cayambe peak. Cayambe Glaciers School day. Wake up at 7 am for breakfast. We continue adjusting to altitude acclimatization. We go on the glacier at 8h30 AM. And engage in the moderate glacier section a good activity. Where well be familiarize ourselves with the various climbing techniques, equipment work for climbing.

Our guide get to you on a glacier skills all of techniques necessary for climbing the high peaks like Cayambe, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo and others mountains, to. We’ll be learn and practice rope-handling, glacier travel snow climbing and basic crevasse rescue skills and safety techniques…The general procedures for high peak mountains.

After 6 hours training we are back to refuge for delicious lunch and resting afternoon, Of course we Prepare A good teams for a midnight departure for Cayambe day summit. Early dinner and early to bed, usually by 6:30pm. Refuge. Hut (B/BL/D)

Cayambe climbing summit day. Afternoon drive back to Cayambe City, then to Baños Villages, the door of the Jungle region. Good resting night and recover energy for the next climbing day on Chimborazo. Wake up at midnight. Breakfast and final equipment check. We leave the refuge at 1:00 A.M. and climb with headlamps for the first four hours.

We have an easy glacier climb to a saddle and then continue onto steeper and exciting grounds. We’ll traverse around large crevasses and pass some spectacular seracs. Climb 40 degree slopes with occasional short, steeper sections. The final Cayambe summit is reached at about 9:00 A.M. You will have a view of photogenic lines and spectacular mountains.

Return to the refuge around 12:00 P.M. In the afternoon we can drive down to Cayambe City and continue drive to Baños! After 4-5 hours drive we can arrive on this nicer villages at 1600m altitude around 6-7pm, were you can rest a night for the next morning to discover a new adventure day. (B/BL)

Today we relax in the valley town of Baños, where the lush vegetation is home to an unusual variety of orchids, Mountains, worm temperature, flowers, bird, many butterflies, hummingbird and more species for look. We have a full day activity for visit the very nice waterfalls on the way to the jungle, on this road is possible driving bay bicycle for look a very nice nature, Awesome waterfalls in our way, We will be walking on the Pailon del Diablo waterfall for 2 hours and look the jungle forest.

We visit the Inez Maria waterfall on the Pastaza River and of curse our last visit to the Zoo too. We will enjoy the natural all of the day, we need for this visit 4 hours by car, and back to town here you may choose to hike to the very famous Catholic Church.

Today after we can move to Chimborazo refuges.
Depart from banos at 11:00 A.M. Drive Northwest of Baños, passing the agricultural towns valley’s from the Andes, we cross Ambato again.

On all of the way we crossing agricultural and indigenous landscapes areas with variety in Agriculture, where a picture two may attract you. Alter 3 Horus drive we will arrive at the Carrell refuge of Chimborazo Immediately we take us our backpacks to hike up for 40 minutes, which will lead us up to the Whimper hut on the Chimborazo west flank, located at 5000m (16,400ft.) Resting afternoon, Dinner early and early to bed by (6:30 PM.). Refuges B/BL/D

Chimborazo climbing day. Chimborazo is Ecuador’s highest peak and is a massive glaciated volcano that consists of five summits. Rise at midnight for breakfast and equipment check-up. Leave the hut at 1:00 A.M. We move immediately to the huge glacier on Chimborazo’s southwest face where we first traverse moderately angled ice slopes, climb through a series of icefalls and up the steep ice ramps.

Climbing on simultaneously rock parts up, on moderate grounds terrain, belaying up the steep rope pitches to safe our climbing opportunity. Our team will rope together in order to cross crevasses and finally make it to the summit. This is the highest point of the Andes and from here we have a magnificent view of the emerging volcanoes that form the eastern and western Cordillera.

The said volcanoes seem to emerge from the clouds below our feet. Our approximate climbing time is 8 to 9 hours. Return to the refuge around noon. Lunch, then travel back to Quito (Arriva at 7:00m)

Transfer out.
